"Don't call it a comeback.
I've been here for years."
--LL Cool J
Okay. So it's a comeback.
After many, many months (years?) of shallow attempts and false starts, I decided that today would be the day I return for real.
So here it is: the brand new "World of Philly Sports (According to Strom)" blog!
Okay. So it looks exactly like the old blog.
But the new format is going to be shorter, more frequent posts.
Today is the day I realized that I started writing this blog in June of 2008. And what happened that fall? That's right. The first World Series championship of my conscious lifetime, the first in any of the four major sports in Philadelphia in 25 years.
So today we're officially bringing it back.
Because, while we know better than most fans that it could always get worse, the current run of luck (or lack thereof) in Philly sports is downright disheartening. So, rather than succumbing to the bitterness, the self-pity bordering on depression, the head shaking, shoulder shrugging, throwing of hands up in the air and looking to the sky for some higher power to scoop me out from this existence known as being a Philadelphia sports fan, I offer you this.
May it be some kind of karmic prayer for our fortunes to change.
(More to come real soon!)
